16 year old girl. Victor of the 74th Hunger Games and symbol of the rebellion. She lost her father at the age of 11 and had to learn how to keep her family alive on her own.
Peeta Melark:
16 years old boy. Victor of the 74th Hunger Games, his family own a bakery where he paints the cake designs. He is strong, kind and caring. He's been in love with Katniss ever since he laid his eyes on her in school.
Gale Hawthorne:
18 years olf boy. After loosing his father the same year as Katniss, they start hunting together by chance and become best friends. He took care of Katniss' family while she was in the games, boycotting them altogether. He is rebellious and smart. During the rebellion, he becomes an important soldier and helps plan different attacks on the capitol and District 2. After the rebellion, he goes on to live in District 2.
Primrose Everdeen:
Katniss' 12 years old sister. Her name gets pick during her first reaping, causing Katniss to volonteer in her place. She is very kind and sensitive. She also becomes a great healer, capable of dealing with horrible injuries.
Haymitch Abernathy:
Being the victor of the 50th Hunger games, the second quarter quell, he becomes Peeta's and Katniss' mentor during the games. Despite his alcoholism, he manages to get sponspors for Katniss, ensuring her survival. He also becomes an important player in getting Katniss out of the Arena during the 75th Hunger Games.
Effie Trinket:
She is the capitol escort for the tributes of District 12 as well as being their adviser. She gets quickly attached to Katniss and Peeta and starts questonning the Capitol along the story. In the end, she gets thrown into jail for her ties to the Capitol and is only taken out when Katniss is scheduled to execute President Snow.
Known tributes of 74th Hunger Games
Marvel:
Boy tribute from District 1. He is the second person Katniss kills. While throwing a javelin at Katniss' ally, she shots an arrow through his throat. He was part of the Career pack.
Glimmer:
Girl tribute from Distrcit 1. She is the first person Katniss kills, although not with her own hands. Glimmer was also part of the career pack and died after surrounding Katniss, who climb high in a tree. While the pack of career were alseep below the tree, Katniss drops a nest of Tracker Jackers, deadly mutant wasps, onto them. Glimmer was didn't have time to escape like the others and succombed to the wasps venom.
Cato:
Boy tribute from District 2. He is the last to survive the areana before Katniss and Peeta's victory. After a short fight against them, Katniss shoots him in the hand, causing him to release his grip on Peeta and fall into the pack of mutant wolves waiting to devour him. In the end, he begs Katniss to end his suffering, which she does, making him her third victim.
Clove:
Girl tribute from District 2, she is also part of the career pack. She gets killed by Tresh after bragging about Rue's death. During the feast in the cornucopia, a moment where the lasting tributes are given things they need to survive a little longer, Clove attacks Katniss and taunts her with the death of her ally. Unbeknowst to her, Tresh heard her comments and bashed he head in the Cornucopia, killing her.
Foxface:
Girl tribute of District 5. She manages to stay hidden during the whole game, avoid any interaction with her enemies. Unfortunately, while following Peeta, she eats some of the berries he left behind which turned out to be poisonous. However, during the training they receive before going into the Games. Katniss notices that Foxface is very knowledgable about wild plants, thus suggesting that she actually killed herslef instead of having to die in the hands of other people.
Tresh:
Boy tribute from District 11. He takes off on his own into the field part of the arena, avoid people for most of the game. However, during the feast, he overhears Clove bragging to Katniss about killing the 12 year olf girl from his district, sending him into a rage. He kills the girl from District 2 and leaves Katniss alone, thanking her for her friendship with Rue. He later dies during a fight between him and Cato.
Rue:
Girl tribute of District 11, she is only 12 years old. She reminds Katniss of her sister, causing them to build a friendship during the games and becoming allies. Together, they build a plan to sabottage the career's mountain of supplies and things go well for the first part of the plan. Unfortunately, she got caught by Marvel, who was still hiding when Katniss reached for her friend. Seconds after being reunited, Marvel throws a javelin at Rue, killing her before dying himself. Her death was the hardest for Katniss.
Capitol citizens
President Snow
Tyrannical President of Panem. It is unknown if he gained his power demmocraticly or by force, but he was very careful to not trust people around him to much. It is even revealed by Finnick Odair, that President Snow poisonned his allies in fear that they would, one day, turn on him. To avoid suspicions, he drank the poison too, causing him to have permanent sores in his mouth, despite the many antidotes he took. He is very manipulative and like to keep control of things by intimidating and opressing people. In the end, he choked to death on his own blood, while laughing at President Coin's death.
Ceasar Flickerman
He is the Hunger Games' talkshow host. Every year, he conducts a series of interviess with the tributes and the Gamemaker to prepare the public for the game. He then interviews the winner once the game is over. He is an energetic man who knows how to make poeple feel at ease.
Seneca Crane
Head Gamemaker of the 74th Hunger Games. He was the one to allow Katniss and Peeta to become the winners, which led to him being hanged for his mistakes.
Cinna
He was a first time stylist for the Hunger Games and personaly requested to work with District 12. He was one of the only Capitol citizen that Katniss liked. He was kind, compassionate and rebellious. He got killed right before sending Katniss in the arena during the 75th Hunger Games because of the alterations he made on Katniss' wedding dress, which was seen by the whole nation.
Plutarch Heavensbee
Head Gamemaker of the 75th Hunger Games after taking Seneca's place. Being part of a group of rebels aiming to overthrow the Capitol, he kept his real intentions hidden until he came to rescue Katniss, Beetee and Finnick from the arena in a stolen hovercraft. He is later revealed to be a leader of the rebellion alongside the leader of District 13.
Prep team
Every tribute has a team of people who take care of the tribute's appearance. For Katniss, she was accompanied of Flavius, who does hair, Venia, who waxes and Octavia, who does nails. They work with Cinna to make Katniss look beautiful. After Katniss' escape from the arena, they were captured by the District 13 and kept in jail cells naked. They were brutalised, starved and emotionnaly abused for months before Katniss demanded for them to be treated fairly.

Gloss
30 years old male tribute of District 1, he was the victor of the 63rd Hunger Games. He was part of the Career pack in the 75th Hunger Games.
Cashmere
29 years old female tribute of District 1, she was the victor of the 64th Hunger Games. She participated in the Hunger Games the year after her brother's, Gloss, victory. She was part of the Career pack in the 75th Hunger Games.
Brutus
4o years old male tribute of District 2. He volonteered to participate in the 75th Hunger Games. The Hunger Games he won is unknown, but from his age we can assume that he won a game between the 41st and the 53rd, not including the 45th and the 50th Hunger Games. He was part of the Career pack in the 75th Hunger Games.
Enobaria
31 years old female tribute of District 2. She was the victor of the 62nd Hunger Games. She became famous for ripping another tribute's throat out. She later altered her teeths into fangs and had them inlaid with gold. She was part of the Career pack in the 75th Hunger Games. When the arena broke down, she was captured by the Capitol, but was not mistreated because she was not allied to the rebellion.
Beetee Latier
50 years old male tribute of District 3. Although he is not physically strong, he's an expert in technology and wiring. It is unknown which Hunger Games he competed in, but it is assumed to be between the 31st and the 43rd. During the 75th Hunger Games he allied himself with Katniss and Peeta and organized a plan to kill all the remaining career tributes, which was actually a ploy to break the areana, since he was also allied with the rebellion. In the Mockingjay, Beetee starts working for the rebels by making new weapons for the military and by providing the leaders with information about the broadcasting system of the Capitol, which he created. After the Rebels' victory, it is assumed he went back to live in District 3.
Wiress
40 years old female tribute of District 3. The Hunger Games she won is unknown, but we assume it was between the 41st and the 53rd, not including the 45th and 50th Hunger Games. During the 75th Hunger Games, she allies herself with Peeta and Katniss, althought she was probably only following Beetee. She died during a battle between the pack of Careers and theirs. She is also the first person to realize that the areana functionned like a clock.
Finnick Odair
24 years old male tribute of District 4. He is the yougnest victor of the Hunger Games, having won the 65th Hunger Games at the age of 14 years old. His weapon of choice is a Trident. During the 75th Hunger Games, he allied himself with Katniss and Peeta under the recommandation of Haymitch. After being rescued from the arena, he becomes mentally unstable because in relatiation to his rescuing, the Capitol captured Annie Cresta, his lover. He start becoming better once she is rescued by the District 13 and they get married. Unfortunately, he died during Katniss' mission in the Capitol, leaving behind his pregnant wife.
Mags
80 years old female tribute of District 4. She was Finnick's mentor. She was the victor of the 11th Hunger Games. During the reaping for the 75th Hunger Games, she volonteered herself to save Annie Cresta, a young woman deeply scared by her own Hunger Games, and Finnick's love interest. During the games, she gives her life for Katniss and Peeta, deciding to let herself get killed by the poisonous fog in order for Finnick to help Katniss drag Peeta to safety.
Johanna Mason
21 years old female tribute of District 7. She was the victor of the 71st Hunger Games, winning by pretending to be a weak opponant until enough people had died, allowing her to eliminate the remaining tributes. After those games, President Snow tried to force her into prostitution, and when she refused, he killed her whole family. She was told by Haymitch to protect katniss and Peeta in the arena, which she did. Unfortunately, she was not rescued with the others and was captured by the Capitol alongside Peeta and Enobaria.
Male and Female morphling
Tributes of District 6, the year they won their Hunger Games is unknown.They are nicknamed morphlings because of their constant drugged-out state. It is assumed that before the 75th Hunger Games started, Haymitch took them aside to tell them of their plan of rebellion, asking for their help in protecting Katniss and Peeta if they could. During the games, Katniss, Peeta and Finnick are attacked by wild angry monkeys and the female morphling gives her life to Peeta, protecting him from the attack of a monkey.
Blight
35 years old male tribute of District 7. He was the victor of an unknown Hunger Games, assumed to be between the 54th and 59th Hunger Games. Like Johanna, he was told to protect Katniss and Peeta, but unfortunately, he died during a rain of blood, by walking straight into a force-field.
Distric 13 citizens
President Alma Coin
She was the President of District 13 and the leader of the Second rebellion against the Capitol. She initially showed full support for the rebellion, but over time, Katniss started to notice that the war was a means to an end for President coin, all she wanted was to be the President of Panem. At first , she shows exceptionnal leadership abilities, always staying impassive. However, as the story continues, we start to notice her narcissism and her arrogance. She makes it clear that she only views Katniss as an asset, and not a person. She even starts to consider her as an eventual threat and tries to get her killed on camera during her mission to the Capitol. Eventually, it is President Snow who understand President Coin's true intentions first, and he shares them with Katniss. Upon the realization that President Coin was the one to drop the bombs, which killed her sister, onto the Capitol's children, Katniss decides to kill her instead of executing Snow.
Boggs
He was President Coin's second-in command, but once Katniss assumed her role as the Mockingjay, he became her bodyguard. He unfortunatly dies during Katniss' mission and gives her the only access to the Capitol's map, telling her not to trust them and to continue her mission to kill Snow. Although he stayed loyal to the rebellion until the end, it is assumed that he was trying to warn Katniss about the true intentions of President Coin.
Cressida
She was a resident of the Capitol who decided to join the rebellion with her camera crew. She is a film director and worked with the rebellion to film propos about Katniss and her fight against the Capitol. She joins Katniss during her mission into the Capitol. She also helped them get refuge at one of her old friend's place. She survives the war although her whereabouts are unknown.
Messalla
He was Cressida' assistant and was also a resident of the Capitol before joining the rebellion. He dies during Katniss mission, stuck into a Capitol's pod, melting under a shaft of golden light.
Castor
He was a cameraman for Cressida. He used to live in the Capitol before buying his brother', Pollux, way out of the underground. They then joined the rebellion together, working as a filming crew. He died during Katniss mission, attcked by mutant lizards.
Pollux
He was a cameraman for Cressida. He was made and Avox, a person whose tongue was cut out by the Capitol before being forced to slave for them. He worked for years underground before his brother bought his way above ground. When they joined the rebellion, Pollux and his brother started filming the propos for District 13. He is the only surviving member of the filming crew alongside Cressida.
Jackson
She was the second-in command of Boggs. After his death, she asks Katniss to give her the Capitol's map, showing a distrust for her. However, with Cressida's support Katniss convinces her that she had a secret mission to kill President Snow. She sacrificed herself in order to hold off the mutant lizards.
Annie Cresta
23 years old victor of the 70th Hunger Games. During those games, she witnessed her district partner get beheaded before isolating herself for most of the games. However, an earthquake caused a dam in the arena to break, thus filling it with water. Annie survived thanks to being the best swimmer. After the games, she became mentally unstable, with the only person able to calm her down being her lover, Finnick. After the Second Rebellion, she stayed in contact with Katniss, but her whereabouts are unknown.
